Canada has a long history of participating in the volleyball men’s Olympic championships. The first time Canada’s male volleyball players took part in the Olympic Games in 1976. It’s interesting to know that Canada men’s national volleyball team hasn’t been qualified for Olympic Games since 1992. Finally, Canada’s male volleyball players qualified for Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games. And of course, it’s was a good piece of news for everyone who loves the sport of volleyball in Canada.

Blair Bann is one of the best Canada’s male volleyball players. Blair plays at the libero position. He plays for German club Duren and Canada men’s national volleyball team. Blair Bann participated in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. The list of athlete’s list of awards includes the following: 1 bronze medal (2017) at FIVB World League as well as 1 gold medal (2015) and 1 silver medal (2013) at NORCECA Championship.

Ryley Barnes

Murray Grapentine

Murray Grapentine is the legendary middle blocker from Canada. The volleyball player’s awards include 1 bronze medal (2017) at FIVB World League as well as 1 gold medal (2015) at NORCECA Championship. Daniel won the award of “Best Middle Blocker” at NORCECA Championship that took place in 2015.

Scott Koskie

Scott Koskie is a former Canada’s male volleyball player. He played at the setter’s position. Scott finished his sport career and now he works as the assistant coach for the Canadian Women’s national volleyball team. Scott Koskie has won 2 bronze medals (2001 and 2005) at NORCECA Championship. Scott earned the “Best Setter” award at NORCECA Championship that took place in Winnipeg in 2005.

Daniel Lewis

Daniel Lewis is a former member of Canada men’s national volleyball team. He played as a libero/receiver. Daniel’s sport achievements include: 1 bronze medal (2015) at Pan American Games, 2 bronze medals (2001 and 2011) at NORCECA Championship as well as 1 bronze medal (2011) at Pan-Am Cup. Daniel Lewis earned the “Best Receiver” award at CEV Champions League in 2010.

Stephen Maar

Stephen Maar is a member of Canada men’s national volleyball team. He plays as an outside hitter. Stephen has earned 1 bronze medal (2017) at FIVB World League.

Steven Marshall

Steven Marshall plays for German volleyball club Berlin Volleys and Canada men’s national volleyball team. He plays as an outside hitter. Steven participated in the Summer Olympic Games Rio 2016. Steven’s awards include 1 bronze medal (2017) at FIVB World League, 1 gold medal (2015) at NORCECA Championship as well as 1 bronze medal (2015) at Pan American Games.

John Gordon Perrin

John Gordon Perrin plays for Polish volleyball club Asseco Resovia Rzeszow and the Canada men’s national volleyball team. John represented Canada at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He plays as an outside hitter. Sharone Vernon-Evans

Sharone Vernon-Evans plays for Polish volleyball club ONICO Warszawa. Sharone is also a member of the Canada men’s national volleyball team. He has won 1 bronze medal (2017) at World League.

Garth Pischke

Garth Pischke has ended his sport career and now he works as the head coach at the University of Manitoba Bisons. Garth Pischke played for the Canada men’s national volleyball team from 1976 to 1984. The volleyball player’s awards include 1 silver medal (1997) and 1 bronze medal (1999) at NORCECA Championship as well as 1 bronze medal (1999) at Pan American Games.

TJ Sanders

Tyler James plays for Polish volleyball club Lotos Trefl Gdansk and the Canada men’s national volleyball team. Tyler also participated in the 2016 Summer Olympics. He plays as a setter. Tyler’s sport achievements include: 1 bronze medal (2017) at FIVB World League, 1 gold medal (2015) at NORCECA Championship as well as 1 bronze medal (2015) at Pan American Games.

Gavin Schmitt

Gavin Schmitt is a member of the Canada men’s national volleyball team and participant of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. The list of Gavin’s honors includes 1 silver medal (2013) and 1 bronze medal (2011) at NORCECA Championship as well as 1 bronze medal (2015) at Pan American Games. Gavin Schmitt also has several individual awards such as “Best Spiker“, “Best Scorer“, “Best Server” and “Best Opposite Spiker“.

Dustin Schneider

Dustin Schneider is a former Canada’s male volleyball player. He played as a setter for the Canada men’s national volleyball team from 2007 to 2016. Dustin’s awards include: 1 gold medal (2015), 1 silver medal (2013) and 1 bronze medal (2013) at NORCECA Championship, 1 bronze medal (2015) at Pan American Games as well as 1 silver medal (2009) at Pan-American Cup.

Adam Simac

Adam Simac played for Canada men’s national volleyball team from 2008 to 2016. The player’s awards include: 1 gold medal (2015), 1 silver medal (2013) and 1 bronze medal (2011) at NORCECA Championship as well as 1 bronze medal (2015) at Pan American Games.

Rudy Verhoeff

Rudy Verhoeff plays for Swiss volleyball club Volley Amriswil and Canada men’s national volleyball team. Rudy is also a member of Canada’s 2016 Olympic team. The player’s biggest sport achievements include 1 gold medal (2015) and 1 silver medal (2013) at NORCECA Championship as well as 1 bronze medal (2015) at Pan American Games.
